Dancing
I was driving home last night, and the song ' Safety Dance' by Men with Hats was on the radio.
I especially love the bit that goes 'We can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind, because your friends dont dance, and if they dont dance, then they're no friends of mine'
I have heard all the references to dancing, in the Bible, David danced in celebration, he danced so hard his clothes came off. Were is our exhuberance? What happened to throwing off all the 'shackles' of this world and dancing with pure, unadulterated abandon? I sometimes thing that those 'Hippy Wacko's' from the 60's maybe got it right, dancing around freely, with no care that society deemed this behavior 'unacceptable'
Sure, there was some stuff going on that might have 'enhanced the happy' so to speak, but seriously, why not dance when you are happy? Dance with joy - remember all those times as a kid that you go so excited you would literally jump up and down, and wiggle all around with the anticipation.
I get odd looks when I do these things ( I am nearly 30) but the joy is the same, the excitement is so much that you cant hold it in, and it doesnt have to be ballroom great, just a free expression of the happiness inside, bubbling out, who cares if people stare, lighten up, live a little, DANCE IF YOU WANNNA!!!
